This guide will show you how to assign and unassign users to licenses on ExpressVPN for Teams.
There are two ways to assign licenses to users in ExpressVPN for Teams: manually or through bulk CSV upload.

Assign users manually
To manually assign licenses to users:
- Sign in to your ExpressVPN for Teams admin account.
- From your Admin Account Dashboard, find the license you wish to assign a user to. Available licenses are marked as UNASSIGNED under the STATUS column.
- Once you have found the license you wish to assign, select Assign user under the USER column.
- Enter the user’s first name, last name, and email address. Then select Add To License.
- The newly-assigned user will receive an email with instructions on how to activate their license.
If the assigned user did not receive the email invite, you can resend it. To do so:
- Sign into your ExpressVPN for Teams admin account.
- From your Admin Account Dashboard, find the license you just assigned and select the three-vertical-dots icon > Resend email invite.
- If successful, you will see a message at the top of your Account Dashboard saying, “You have resent an email invite to users with license ID: XXXXXXXXX.”

Assign users via bulk CSV upload
To assign users via bulk CSV upload:
- Sign into your ExpressVPN for Teams admin account.
- From your Admin Account Dashboard, select Import Users via CSV.
- Download and fill in the CSV template, then upload the completed CSV file by selecting Browse files or dragging and dropping the CSV file into the indicated box. Once you have uploaded your CSV file, all currently available and unassigned licenses will be automatically assigned to users from the CSV file.
- Select Invite X Users.
- Each newly-assigned user will receive an email with instructions on how to activate their license.

Unassign users from licences
To unassign a user from a licence:
- Sign into your ExpressVPN for Teams admin account.
- From your Admin Account Dashboard, find the license you wish to unassign and select the three-vertial-dots icon under MANAGE/CANCEL.
- Select Unassign License again.
- If successful, you will see a message at the top of your Admin Account Dashboard stating “You have successfully unassigned the VPN license. The user no longer has access to the VPN subscription.”
